DKR was established in 2013 when Danie Kotze, at that time a partner in a successful property development company, realised that the demand for housing and specialized Renovations in the Western Cape. Over the years, the company has grown from strength to strength, having successfully completed over 650 projects, ranging from single residential units to large industrial units.
In 2015, Dirk Kotze (the younger brother of Danie Kotze) also came on board, bringing with him his vast experience gained from working in the Civil Engineering and Earthworks industry for companies such as Grinaker-LTA and Stefanutti Stocks.
Each project is managed by our team of highly experienced personnel, incorporating the services of various professionals in the architectural, engineering, quantity surveying and other related fields, with whom we have established an excellent working relationship. Many of our sub- contractors have now worked with us for a good number of years and have proved their reliability and dedication to quality workmanship.
Top management believes in an open-door policy and our Managing Director is personally involved with each project. Such a “hands on” approach ensures that good relations are always maintained between our clients and the company.
We are acutely aware that development leaves behind it a large carbon footprint. We adhere strictly to all regulations relating to environmental issues, as set out by the Local Council and the Department of Environmental Affairs.
SAFETY & HEALTH
Our key strategic objective is the achievement of “zero harm”. Site Foremen and management ensure that safety is not compromised in any circumstances by taking responsibility for employee safety, leading by example, encouraging positive safety behavior and discouraging negative behavior. Site Foremen apply a policy of zero tolerance to non-compliance with safety standards. The company undergoes regular Safety Audits. Cases of occupational and non-occupational disease are referred to external facilities. No pre-employment testing for HIV is undertaken and all HIV testing and counselling is undertaken voluntarily. Employees who are HIV positive are encouraged to participate in the wellness programs available through various local clinics.
